The planting, dispersion, and protection of plants were initiated by First Lady Mrs. Ani Yudhoyono in 2007 to involved society in taking on the responsibility of preserving the environment together.
This program is conducted and supported by 7 women organizations, and in 2008 the program continues.
Why does KaDO participate in this activity? First, in 2007, KaDO has already been actively involved in planting trees with the women working at the regional governmental agencies of Bekasi; second, KaDO is already widely known by society and this resulted in environmental activist Mrs. Erna Witular (who in 2006 officiates KADO with Mr. Witular) inviting Mrs. Martha Tilaar, through former Forestry Minister Mrs. Jamaludin, to attend a breakfast meeting at her house. A partnership was formed from that meeting between Mrs. Martha Tilaar and the Tourism society who wants to plant trees but doesn’t have the place to do so.
KaDO is only 1 out of 5 plots that will be planted simultaneously and attending the proceeding was Fahmi Idris and member of committee Mrs. Jamaluddin as representatives of the government.
There were 500 breadfruits (the tree that the government has said is an active food source) planted and 500 fishes released in the pond.
