Seminar "Active Aging to Slowdown the Aging Process"
On Saturday, 26 January 2008, the University of Indonesia (UI) and SCI (Stem Cell and Cancer Institute) held a seminar entitled "Active Aging to Slowdown the Aging Process" that aims to bring closer the people behind ABG (or Academy, Business, Government). The seminar, held at UI's rector building from 08.00 – 13.30, was organized after seeing the increasing number of the elderly. According to a survey conducted by WHO in 2002, there are three aspects that have a significant influence on active aging: income, occupation, and social security, though there are other factors as well, such as health, social service, attitude, personality, and physical condition.
Studies on old age have been conducted by UI as well as other industries such as Stem Cell and Cancer Institute and Martha Tilaar Group.
